1912 Black Silk Edwardian Evening Dress
When Poiret introduced the corset-free, high-waisted dress in 1906, he transformed the fashion world, allowing the natural beauty of the body to shine through. This beautiful evening dress is a timeless example of Poirets vision. Black silk/satin with an overdress of silk tulle on one side. The tulle is embroidered with a floral motif featuring an asymmetrical silhouette in green, purple and pink. The bodice has matching embroidery and cream lace sleeves. The slight train is classically Edwardian.
